Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.
Prolific children's author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.
An official for the company stated: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an investigation into allegations of inappropriate behaviour involving young women.
The company has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."
A Prolific Publishing History
Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold in excess of 60 million copies worldwide in five dozen languages.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.
A number of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.
To date, he has released in excess of 40 works altogether, including a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.
Television and Literature
His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.
This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
